Surprise Kanye West Performance At The CMAs

It wasn’t seen on TV, but moments after Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood signed off from the 44th Country Music Awards, Kanye West gave a surprise performance for the crowd at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

In what was most likely an attempt to make up for interrupting Taylor Swift during an acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, West sang an original composition, which came out like a pathetic apology to both Swift and the country music world.

“I thought I was doin’ somethin’ niiice, but I don’t think they respected it,” West said.

Indeed they didn’t. West was laughed off stage with jeers heard as far away as the gas station across the street.

“I can see where he was coming from, but it just didn’t work,” Swift said, barely controlling her laughter. “I think he was put off by the jokes we made about him last year. He seemed a little nervous.”

The Sensationalist Times tried contacting West’s publicist to see whether this was just a stupid publicity stunt, but she didn’t return our phone calls, emails, BBMs or tweets.

While West has done some pretty stupid things, this probably takes the cake. He just about lost all his street cred.
